Mary Ellen Sturm, President
Mary Ellen joined VIP Travel Center in April of 1985 as the agency manager and became owner manager in December of 1992. She lives by the VIP mission statement: Develop customers for life, add value to each transaction, work together and have fun.

Mary Ellen holds the designation CTC, Certified Travel Counselor, the only professional certification program in the travel industry. She has traveled the world extensively, including Western Europe, Turkey, the Czech Republic, China, Japan, Singapore, New Zealand, Kenya, The Seychelles and Egypt as well as North America and the Caribbean. Cruising is a special interest, having sailed on more than a dozen ships. Some of the many specialist titles she has earned are from Ireland, Australia, China, Disney, the Caribbean and Western Europe.

Dan Nelson
2007 marks 32 years in the travel business. Over those years he has worked as a tour escort, on the road group travel sales, part-time instructor of the Travel Planner course at Dakota County Technical College, Front-line Travel Agent and Agency Manager. He became part of the Northfield VIP Travel Team through the merger of Northfield Travel and VIP Travel Center in 2002.

Judy Running
Judy Joined the VIP Staff in 1997 after completing the travel program at Dakota County Technical College. Her travel experience is extensive with Kenya, Egypt, the Seychelles, Europe and Mexico among her favorite destinations.

Judy specializes in Club Med, Las Vegas, MLT Vacations and Marriott Hotels.

Linda Tollefson
Linda joined Northfield VIP Travel in the fall of 2004. She is very excited to be a part of the agency and brings a fresh approach to travel planning. Linda loves to do research and is constantly surfing the Internet and reading through travel publications. Her goal is to know as much as she can about the newest resorts, cruises and any destination you may be interested in. She also loves the challenge of hunting down a great deal!

Linda has traveled extensively including many trips to Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Europe and throughout the United States. She also has been on a couple of cruises! She likes all types of travel planning but especially enjoys helping people to create memorable family vacations. She cares deeply about her clients and will work very hard to make sure that every detail of their trip is perfect!

Linda holds a BA degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and is a graduate of the Travel Program at Dakota County Technical College.

Troy Ros
Troy is new to Northfield VIP Travel but not to the travel industry. He co-owned a travel agency with his father in Las Vegas from 1992-1997.  After another year of operating as a sole practitioner, he worked as a corporate travel agent for 4 years, arranging travel for large corporations and universities, as well as small companies and individuals.
 
Troy has considerable travel experience himself, having travelled to Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala, Mexico (many times), Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Japan, China, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Austria, England & Scotland, New Zealand, Fiji and Australia. He has also been to Hawaii, Disneyworld and Disneyland, the Caribbean and Bahamas, the Black Hills (many times) and has been on several cruises.

Since Troy became a dad in 2005, most of his travels now center around family friendly destinations.

Lois Nelson
Lois started with VIP in 1986. She is our train travel specialist including Amtrak and Rail Europe. Lois also has advanced training in travel to Las Vegas, Portugal, Spain, Western Europe, the Caribbean, Spa vacations, Disney Properties, Cruising and Golf Packages.

Lois has traveled extensively from coast-to-coast across the United States, to Hawaii, Mexico, Central America, Africa, Norway, Sweden, England, France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Korea, Thailand, Tahiti and several Islands in the Caribbean.

One of the best parts about this job to Lois is the personal relationships built with clients who travel frequently. Most gratifying however is working out all the small details so that our clients can realize their dream vacation!

Chris Mensing
Chris completed the Travel Agent Program at McConnell School in 1995 and worked at Northwestern Business Travel for several years. She joined the VIP staff in 1999. She enjoys the travel business and stays current while taking time to be a Mom. Chris has a 6-year old son and 2 year-old twin daughters.

Chris specializes in the United States; the lower 48 and Hawaii and Alaska. She also has enjoyed cruising and is ready to send you off on your own specialized adventure! She is confident that VIP has access to what you are looking for.
